Vineyards

20 hectares of land mostly in Montalcino and Castelnuovo dell'Abate

The company owns approximately 20 hectares of land, mostly in Montalcino and Castelnuovo dell'Abate. The main grape variety is Sangiovese, from which about 30,000 bottles of the famous Brunello and 8,000 bottles of Rosso di Montalcino are produced. The remaining vineyards are located in Montenero d'Orcia in the Province of Grosseto. These vineyards have clay-sandy soils rich in gravel with a high mineral component, enhancing the level of savoriness and minerality in the grapes. All the vineyards are trained using the guyot system and cultivated in alternating rows. The company has been practicing crop rotation for years to improve organic matter in the vineyards, reducing the need for fertilizers. In new plantations, the most common planting distance is 2.50x80 meters, although older vineyards have a spacing of 3x1 meters.

Fraschetta Vineyards

Surrounding our farmhouse

The Fraschetta vineyards are named after the estate that we recently renovated into an agriturismo. They are located approximately 800 meters from the historic center of Montalcino towards Castelnuovo dell'Abate, on top of a hill overlooking the entire Val d'Orcia.

Pinacci Vineyards

One kilometer from Castelnuovo dell'Abate

The Cantina vineyards are situated about one kilometer from Castelnuovo dell'Abate. They are the largest vineyards in terms of extension and are named after their proximity to the new cellar. As seen on the map in the bottom left, the cellar is between two vineyards, and across the road, there are two more vineyards. A little further ahead, on the right, you can see the Abbey of Sant'Antimo.

Sant'Antimo Vineyard

Above the medieval abbey of the same name

This vineyard is reached via a dirt road beyond the Abbey of Sant'Antimo. It is a south-facing vineyard, sheltered on all other sides by the surrounding hills, creating a warm embrace and protecting it from the colder winds. The woods around it characterize the soil composition and the bouquet of the resulting wines.

Montenero Vineyard

Our vineyards in the province of Grosseto

The remaining vineyards are located in Montenero d'Orcia in the Province of Grosseto. Here, various grape varieties are cultivated: Alicante, Merlot, Syrah, and Colorino for "Il Ginepro IGT," while the vinification of Chardonnay and Viognier yields a small production of White Wine.
