History

Three generations of winemakers in Montalcino

The history of the Vasco Sassetti farm begins in 1900 in Castelnuovo dell'Abate with only 4 hectares and a small cellar, thanks to the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit of Vasco Sassetti. In 1985, with the collaboration of his cousin Terzilio Lanzini and wife Giovanna, the farm expands. After Vasco's passing in 2009, the Lanzini family continues its management. Today, the property includes 20 hectares of land, the Osteria Bassomondo, and the Fraschetta agritourism site in Montalcino, while also maintaining a presence in Montalcino Salumi Srl, based in Campagnatico (GR).
